Travel Counselor

As a Travel Counselor, you will play a key role in creating efficient, policy-compliant, and cost-effective travel itineraries. You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure every detail is handled with care and accuracy, reflecting our commitment to excellence.
Objectives of this role:
• Deliver a seamless travel experience for clients by providing high-quality, end-to-end booking support.
• Ensure compliance with government travel regulations and corporate travel policies.
• Maintain service levels and response times aligned with Duluth Travel’s commitment to client satisfaction.
• Support team goals and contribute to process improvement initiatives across the operations function.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide full-service travel planning for government and corporate clients using the Sabre GDS platform.
• Book domestic and international air, car, hotel, and rail reservations in accordance with policy.
• Accurately apply client travel policies, government travel regulations (e.g. per diem, Fly America Act), and contract fares.
• Monitor and manage travel changes, cancellations, and rebookings with attention to cost control and traveler satisfaction.
• Communicate proactively with clients to confirm itineraries, resolve issues, and anticipate travel needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with audit requirements and internal procedures.
• Collaborate with operations supervisors, program managers, and other team members to ensure consistent service quality.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a corporate or government travel management company (TMC)
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with Sabre GDS.
• Strong knowledge of travel industry best practices, airline contracts, and government travel regulations (e.g. DTS, GSA rates).
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a remote or hybrid team.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Familiarity with online booking tools and travel reporting platforms is a plus.
• Certifications in travel industry standards (e.g. CTA, CTC) are a plus.
